"There's a big difference between a rut and a groove." (Anon.) Where are your thoughts and eating behaviors today? It's "definitive definitions time! 1. rut: (noun) a fixed routine or procedure or course of action, thought, etc., especially one regarded as dull and unrewarding. 2. groove: (noun) a long narrow hollow or depression cut in a surface with a tool to create a slick working track; i.e.the track cut in a phonograph record for a needle to follow; "in the groove"(slang) performing well with smooth, effortless skill. Quick! Identify one mental or eating rut that's holding you back and hop out of it. Use the tool of positive self-talk to change defeating, negative messages in your head. Create a mental groove of "I count to 60 before I bite" to create space for unplanned eating. Groovy!!
