"Integrity is so perishable in the summer months of success." (V. Redgrave) Do you remember the Aesop's tale of the hardworking ants and the foolish grasshopper? Our family's storybook is especially delightful where the grasshopper (wearing a party hat) scoffs in rhyme:

"Winter is so far away, I think I'd rather go and play!"

Sound familiar?!

Of course, the piper, (especially when the piper is Mother Nature!) must be paid and the grasshopper was no exception. So many regrets ... so many regrets ... for Winter ALWAYS comes - for ants, for grasshoppers, and for us.

By the next summer, the grasshopper had learned his lesson. As he worked and prepared for the winter ahead he sang: "Summertime work is slow and steady, but when winter comes ... I'll be ready!"

And so will we.
